Fujifilm Updates the Persona CS: What's New in the Persona CS V2

Fujifilm has released the second generation of the Persona CS, its 5kW compact mobile C-arm. The Persona CS V2 replaces the original Persona CS in the lineup, and the changes are concentrated where operators actually spend their attention: the displays, the positioning lasers, and thermal headroom on long cases.
If you already know the Persona CS, this is not a new platform. It's the same 5kW generator, the same large 81 cm arc, the same compact all-in-one footprint. What changed is the operator experience and the ability to keep running through extended procedures.

The 4K display is the biggest visible change
The V2 ships with a 27-inch 4K anti-glare surgical display, up from the 4MP panel on the original. In practical terms, that's roughly double the pixel count on the same screen size, which matters most for fine detail work: guidewire tips, small-gauge needle placement, and reading fine trabecular detail without zooming.
The anti-glare treatment addresses the more mundane problem. Surgical suites are brightly lit, and a reflective panel forces the surgeon to move their head to find an angle where the image reads. The new display also adds an orange exposure light, so radiation status is visible from across the room rather than only on the console.
A larger operator console
The technologist console moves from 12.5 inches to 13 inches. That's a modest bump on paper, but the console is where the tech lives during a case, and the additional area gives more room for controls and image review without menu diving.
Dual green lasers as standard
The V2 makes dual green lasers standard. Green wavelengths read far better than red against bright OR lighting and against skin and drape colors, which means less squinting and faster positioning. Two lasers rather than one gives you crossing reference lines instead of a single axis.
Small change, high frequency of use. This is the kind of update that operators notice on day one.
Optional active cooling
This is the substantive one. Active cooling is now available as an option on both the 21 cm and 30 cm detector packages, designed for longer, more fluoro-intensive procedures where thermal limits become the constraint rather than image quality.
Two things to know before you order. First, active cooling must be specified with the system up front. It is not a field upgrade, so the decision happens at quote time, not later. Second, if your case load is consistently high volume or high power, active cooling on a 5kW system may be the wrong answer to the right problem. Fujifilm positions the 25kW Persona C HR for that tier, and that guidance is worth taking seriously rather than stretching a CS into a workload it wasn't scoped for.
The honest framing: the CS V2 with active cooling is for practices whose cases occasionally run long. The C HR is for practices whose cases routinely run long.
Multi-position hand switch compatibility
The V2 is now compatible with the optional multi-position hand switch, which offers a more comfortable grip and multiple hand positions for exposure control. Useful for anyone holding a switch through a long case, and for physicians who want exposure control in hand rather than at the foot.
Vascular/DSA package
The optional vascular and DSA package carries forward, with software and image processing tuned to track fast-moving contrast. If you're doing angiographic work, this is the box to check.

The core platform is unchanged, and it's worth restating what you're getting:

Worth thinking about carefully, because it drives both price and fit.
The 21 cm detector is the more typical configuration for this model and covers the great majority of orthopedic, pain management, and general surgical work. The 30 cm detector gives you a larger field of view, which matters for longer anatomy and for procedures where you're trying to reduce panning.
If your procedure mix routinely demands the 30 cm field, that's another signal pointing toward the C HR rather than the CS. Larger detector plus longer runs plus higher volume is the C HR's use case.
Who the Persona CS V2 is for
Fujifilm positions this system for ASCs, pain management centers, and operating rooms, and that lines up with the hardware. It's a compact, high-power C-arm for facilities that need real penetration and image quality without the footprint or the price of a full-size vascular system.
The best fit is a practice doing routine orthopedic, pain management, and general surgical fluoroscopy, in a room where space is at a premium, that occasionally runs a longer or more complex case and wants the thermal headroom to handle it.
